Time Control and Format

  • The tournament will be operated using the Swiss system with 8 rounds
  • For each game, each player is given 30 minutes with 30 seconds incremental time for each move starting from the first
  • Every player is required to record every move made by them and their opponents in the correct manner
  • The number of players is limited to 60; players are accepted on a first come first served basis

Age Groups and Prizes

There will be trophies for the top three players from each age group (number of trophies may be increased depending on the number of players), defined as follows:

  • Age 13-18: Born between January 1st, 1992 and December 31st, 1997
  • Age 10-12: Born between January 1st, 1998 and December 31st, 2000
  • Age 6- 9: Born between January 1st, 2001 and December 31st, 2004

All players are required to bring photo identification for age verification purposes.

Tournament Fee

HK$250 per person
Early bird fee: HK$150 per person for payments received on or before January 25th, 2010

1. Fill out the online registration form here and send the cheque by mail to the given address, indicating the player’s name on the back of the cheque.

2. Print out registration form here and send it together with the cheque to the following address.

Photo taking

For those who would like to take pictures inside the playing area, you may do so during the first two minutes of round one.

There will be official photographers taking pictures during the Tournament. Each player/parent/guardian acknowledges and agrees that the Association is free to use such pictures for their website, promotion materials or other publicity, record or information purposes, or to give consent to other supporting organizations or other entities to use such pictures, without the need to seek further approval or consent from each player/parent/guardian.

General Disclaimer

Each player and parent/guardian/supporter shall save and hold harmless the Association, its founders, directors, members and/or participating schools, teachers, organizers, sponsors, associates and their respective officers, servants and agents from any loss or liability for any personal injury, property damage and/or other damages or harm which a player/parent/guardian/supporter may suffer arising out of or in connection with their participation in the Tournament or related events.
